How Far Can the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Drive on a Single Charge?

One of the major reasons why people have shied away from electric vehicles in St. Charles is the limited range. When the technology was still new, EVs had an incredibly limited range, and recharging the battery took quite a long time. For many long-distance drivers, this was simply unacceptable. Today, though, things are much different, and the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 range is the proof. It has the highest all-electric range of any other Hyundai, and it charges faster than almost every other EV on the market today.

The actual range depends on the IONIQ 5 style you choose. The entry-level IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range model has a range of 220 all-electric miles. However, the other three vehicles in the line– the IONIQ 5 SE, SEL, and Limited– all offer a range of 303 miles

More about the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Battery

The battery in the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range model offers 125 kW of power output and a 58 kWh battery system capacity. The other three model options boast 168 kW of power output with 77.4 kWh batteries

Both are capable of using DC quick-charge systems, and the bigger of the two batteries can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. This is one of the fastest-charging EVs on the market when connected to DC quick charge. Standard 240v AC charge times are 5 hours 50 minutes for the SE Standard and 7 hours 10 minutes for the other three options; these times account for a 10% to 100% charge.

While the SE Standard offers only a single rear-wheel-drive motor that provides 258 lb-ft of torque, the other three options offer two motors for all-wheel drive capabilities. The dual motor provides 446 lb-ft of torque, which makes them quite peppy and fun to drive despite their all-electric design.
